The Dalai Lama is the monk of the Geluk, the school of Tibetan Buddhism. Current Dalai Lama is and his name is Tenzin Gyasto.
The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyasto was born in the Republic of China and was formally recognized as Dalai Lama through a public declaration. Aged 80, Gyasto is unmarried and resides in Dharmasala, India despite being a Tibetan citizen and the guru of the Geluk school as he exiled to India with the help of CIA’s special activity division.
Later he established almost 80,000 refugees who followed him to exile with an agricultural settlement.
He has also been listed in Forbes’s top influential and powerful person in the world, ranking 39 in 2010 and 51 in 2011.
Dalai Lama has different sources of income. He is an inspiration and has funding from different places. He is influential and people love to donate him. Additionally he has some forms of business as well which is discussed later in next page.
He came from a very small village in Tibet. There is a rule how new Dalai Lama is chosen and there is a very difficult process. The process will be discussed later in next page.
