Taj Mahal is a universally admired masterpiece which is situated on the south bank of the holy Yamuna river. Emperor Shah Jahan built Taj Mahal to house the tomb of his beloved wife Mumtaz, who died in childbirth. This 187-feet ivory-white marble mausoleum is regarded as one of the greatest feats of engineering. It was built in 1631 and took 15 years to complete.
